Process
- Once everything is in place, and the refreshments and prayer are done, there are two teams: 1) an outside team unloading the truck and 2) an inside team called “counters”.
- Food items are unloaded in bulk, item by item.
- Pilgrim’s has a “counter/caller” on the truck who calls the church name and and their portion of the bulk item
- We have a corresponding counter who verifies the called out count and what we are receiving
- Once the semi is unloaded and we have everything, our counter compares their count with the drop’s sites counters and everything is signed off.
- If any food is spoiled, Pilgrim’s makes it up out of their own pantry (as part of their ministry, not out of obligation).
- Pilgrim has a team of 15 people to handle being a drop site for all the churches and distribution site for an average of 150 orders.
Notes
- Bedford Nazarene has a team that picks up the food and another team that sets up the church and distributes.
